A core component of the physical conditioning attribute are the scientifically proven warm-up and conditioning programmes: 11+, 11+ Kids and 11+ Referees.
The Fit4Football programme is a comprehensive community-based programme for all levels of footballers. It provides the footballing community with information about conditioning, nutrition and hydration, warms ups and cool downs, injury prevention, management and return to training and play, the female athlete and reducing injury and harm – all of which are specific to football.
Fit4Football has a player and athlete focus via a coach, club and parent education and information approach, to support and develop players in a holistic manner by adopting best practices and proven methods.
Purpose
The overarching purpose of NZ Football's player welfare and prevention programme, Fit4Football is to; educate, engage, inspire and support all football; coaches, players, parents, clubs, schools and communities to enhance wellbeing, while embedding the Fit4Football programme's injury prevention and player welfare principles and philosophies. Achieving a reduction in the incidence and severity of football injuries, enhanced player performances and supporting participation and capability across football in NZ.
Fit4Football is not just a website
The Fit4Football programme is developed and delivered by New Zealand Football's Player Welfare Team. This is a team with a high level of expertise, qualifications and experience, with a genuine passion for player wellbeing and injury prevention. Our Player Welfare Officers are based throughout New Zealand working within our football communities, clubs, schools and federations. Providing education, learning and understanding to players, referees, coaches and parents, about enhancing performance through prevention in a welfare-centred way. Fit4Football supports the everyday athlete in getting the most out of each season!
